A year-long collaboration of more than 140 public and private institutions hosting over 1,000 science programs, Science Chicago needed a website to educate and engage the community - both online and off.

The goal was simple: help parents and educators find local events that they could experience with their children and students, while positioning Chicago at the forefront of scientific and engineering innovation.

DOMANI led the digital strategy, creative, and technical implementation of a content-managed web presence that featured in-depth information and social media tools for over 4,500 science-related events.

Awaken your inner Einstein.

Learning about the initiative’s events online needed to be engaging, informative, and eye-catching. The CMS for the site was designed to allow users from a variety of different institutions to simply and easily enter details about their upcoming event so it could be featured on ScienceChicago.com.

The site leveraged animation, RSS feeds, embedded video, and interviews with participants to engage and connect visitors to real-life events. Digital and social media tools were used to keep the conversation going offline, extending the project’s reach beyond the real-world programs in Chicago.

Since its launch, Science Chicago served over 300,000 teachers, families, children and individuals through real-life science programming and online experiences. The site was a critical communication and engagement component of the initiative that helped the public connect to thousands of science programs and the organizations that offered them.
